As a not-for-profit cooperative financial institution, credit unions elect officials who volunteer their time and talent to serve the credit union.
The Service Credit Union Board and Committee members are nominated from the membership at large, and voted on by the members at the annual meeting. Service Credit Union is proud to have a devoted group of members serving on the Board. They meet no less than once a month and have a commitment to make certain the credit union provides valuable products and services to the membership.
David W. Van Rossum, Chairman
David Van Rossum has served on the Board since 1991 and has held the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Committee since 2006. Prior to his involvement with Service Credit Union, he was associated with Newco, the credit union serving simplex Wire & Cable. Mr. Van Rossum holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and a M.B.A. from the University of Southern New Hampshire. |
Gordon Simmons,
Treasurer/Secretary
Gordon Simmons has 37 years credit union experience, 33 years with Service Credit Union. In addition to his Board position, Mr. Simmons also serves as President/CEO. He holds the following board positions: Chairman, Defense Credit Union Council; Armed Forces Financial network; New Hampshire Credit Union League; and Chairman, America’s Credit Union Museum. He holds a B.A. in Business from the University of Maryland and a M.B.A. in Quantitative Analysis from the University of Utah. |
Patrick Harrigan,
Vice Chairman
Prior to becoming a Board member in 2004, Patrick Harrigan served on the Supervisory Committee from 2000-2004 and the Credit Committee from 1999-2000. Mr. Harrigan is a partner with the law firm of Chubrich and Harrigan in Portsmouth, N.H. Mr. Harrigan holds a B.A. in economics from Brown University and a J.D. from the University of Maine. |
Clifford N. Taylor,
Director
Clifford N. Taylor has served as a Service Credit Union volunteer for 28 years. Mr. Taylor has been a Board member since 1985. Prior to that, he served on the Supervisory Committee from 1980-1985. Mr. Taylor also held the position of Chairman of the Board from 1999-2002, and has served as the Chairman of the Supervisory Committee. Mr. Taylor attended Emerson College in Boston and the Cambridge School of Broadcasting. |
David Hanchett,
Associate Director
David Hanchett has been involved with credit unions for over 30 years. He was Treasurer at Spaulding Memorial Federal Credit Union for 10 years. Mr. Hanchett served on the Service Credit Union Supervisory Committee from 1994-2001, holding the position of Chairman from 2002-2003. He was elected to the Board of directors in 1999. Mr. Hanchett holds a B.A. from Nichols College. |
Barbara R. Roberge,
Director
Barbara Roberge worked for Service Credit Union for 23 years. The year following her retirement, Ms. Roberge returned to the credit union as a member of the Credit Committee, then the Supervisory Committee, and served as the Chairwoman of the Supervisory Committee. She was elected to the Board ofDirectors in February of 2001 and served in the position of Chairwoman from 2003-2006. Ms. Roberge is an Associates degree candidate at New Hampshire Community Technical College. |
